Galvanised Dowel Bar 16x600
Description
Galvanised Dowel Bars are smooth, round steel bars used in concrete jointing applications to provide load transfer between adjoining sections of concrete while allowing controlled movement through the joint.
Commonly used in contraction and control joints, the smooth surface of the dowel allows the concrete to move along the bar as the slab responds to shrinkage and temperature changes. This helps adjoining slab sections work together while reducing the risk of unwanted cracking and differential movement.
The galvanised finish provides additional corrosion protection, making these dowels a practical choice for a range of residential, commercial and civil concrete applications.

🔮ICR Pro Tip.
A dowel isn't there to stop a concrete joint from moving — it's there to help control how that movement happens. The smooth round profile allows adjoining slabs to move along the dowel as concrete shrinks and responds to temperature changes, while still helping transfer loads between the two sections.
When installing dowels, keeping them straight and properly aligned with the joint is critical. If the bar is misaligned or restrained, it can restrict the movement the joint is intended to provide.
