Don't underestimate the nap when applying waterproofing products. An 18mm nap holds considerably more material than a short-nap roller, which helps when you're trying to achieve the manufacturer's required coverage rate over a rough or porous surface.
For waterproofing, don't just judge coverage by how the roller feels on the wall or floor—keep an eye on your actual m²/L rate. Too much product can be just as problematic as too little, especially where the membrane has a specified wet-film thickness.
